FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution have waived defender Samba, the club announced Monday.
Samba, 23, joined the Revolution on loan from Sporting Clube de Portugal on Jan. 22, 2016 as a result of the clubs’ strategic partnership. In his first MLS campaign in 2016, Samba appeared in two games, starting one, and totaled one shot on goal in 91 minutes of action. He also started two U.S. Open Cup contests, contributing full shifts in the Round of 16 win at the New York Cosmos on June 29 and the Quarterfinal win over Philadelphia on July 20.
