The Revolution have a chance to repeat history.
Nine years ago, the club defeated FC Dallas, 3-2, in the U.S. Open Cup Final. Tonight, the two teams square off once again with the U.S. Open Cup on the line.
But unlike the 2007 final, the Revolution will head into tonight's match as the undisputed underdog. Oscar Pareja's side currently leads MLS with 51 points in 29 matches and has spent significant time atop mlssoccer.com's weekly power rankings. By all accounts, FC Dallas is the Supporter's Shield front runner.
The Revs, meanwhile, have stumbled through much of the 2016 season and do not currently occupy a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
