The New England Revolution’s healthy streak continues, as the team reported no injuries for the third straight week.
On Monday, the Revs announced that defender Josh Smith underwent successful thumb surgery. The procedure was necessary after the rookie sustained an injury during the game against the Portland Timbers on April 2. Smith isn’t expected to miss any significant time.
“We’re going to see what the next day or two looks like,” head coach Jay Heaps told media on Tuesday. “The swelling has come down and now he’s had the surgery, so we’ll see as the week progresses.
