The New England Revolution has suspended academy forward Justin Rennicks for the 2017 spring semester, according to Will Parchman of Top Drawer Soccer.
Rennicks, 17, is reportedly being disciplined after training with Frankfurt of the Bundesliga this winter. According to club rules, academy prospects are barred from training with outside clubs without the Revolution’s permission. According to Parchman’s reporting, Rennicks was aware of these guidelines before he began training in Germany.
The suspension means that Rennicks will miss his final semester with the academy. The teenager graduates in the spring and is expected to play fall soccer at Indiana University.
