MARBELLA, Spain – The New England Revolution fell to Russian Premier League side FC Krasnodar, 2-0, on Sunday morning in Marbella, Spain. Krasnodar tallied twice in the second half to hand New England its first loss in three matches this preseason, with the fourth and final contest in Spain slated for Wednesday, Feb. 6 against FC Dynamo Kyiv.
A scoreless first half saw limited chances for either side, but Krasnodar claimed the lead in the 50th minute when a free kick from Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov took a strong deflection off teammate Ivan Ignatev and found the back of the net.
