LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The New England Revolution fell to Louisville City FC (USL), 3-2, in the Fourth Round of the Lamar Hunt 2018 U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday evening. The match took place at Lynn Stadium on the campus of the University of Louisville. A back-and-forth first half saw the two sides level at the break, but a stunning goal from City’s Brian Ownby in the second frame gave the hosts the victory and eliminated New England from the tournament.
New England jumped out to an early lead in the fifth minute when midfielder Mark Segbers finished a loose ball into the back of the net for his first Revolution goal.
