RECAP: Revolution fall to Real Salt Lake, 4-1, in 2018 road finale

SANDY, Utah – The New England Revolution (9-13-11, 38 pts.) fell to Real Salt Lake (14-12-7, 49 pts.) at Rio Tinto Stadium on Thursday evening in the club’s final away contest of the season. The Revolution were unable to find a response to three first-half goals by Real Salt Lake, and the sides traded goals after halftime to finish 4-1.

Real Salt Lake dominated the first half and jumped out to a 3-0 lead over New England before the 30-minute mark. Nick Besler opened the scoring in the fourth minute, finishing off a cross from Corey Baird. Sebastian Saucedo then doubled the lead with a low strike from in the 14th minute, and Baird broke through for his eighth goal of the season in the 29th minute.
