Recap: Early ejection dooms Revs in 3-1 loss to Sporting Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The New England Revolution (10-14-5; 35 pts.) fell to Sporting Kansas City (11-6-11; 44 pts.), 3-1, at Children's Mercy Park on Saturday evening. Revolution forward Teal Bunbury put the visiting side on the board quickly, tallying in the fourth minute of the match. Minutes later, following video review, forward Krisztián Németh was issued a red card for a foul on Sporting Kansas City's Graham Zusi, forcing the Revs to finish the match with 10 men. Goals scored by Sporting Kansas City's Gerso Fernandes and Diego Rubio put the home side on the front foot heading into the half.
