FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Lee Nguyen didn’t necessarily want a weekend off, but the New England Revolution captain no doubt benefitted from the postponement of the club’s home opener.
Nguyen, who limped off just 57 minutes into the Revolution’s season opener against the Colorado Rapids with an ankle contusion, would’ve been available for selection against Orlando City SC according to head coach Jay Heaps, but the postponement of the match because of extreme weather offered Nguyen a bit of extra time to let the knock fully heal.
“Lee was going to be ready,” Heaps said on Monday morning.
