New England Revolution II sign Revolution Academy alum Tyler Freitas

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – New England Revolution II has signed defender Tyler Freitas (pronounced: FRAY-tuss) to a USL League One contract pending receipt of his ITC and Federation approval.

Freitas, 20, was a member of the Revolution Academy from 2014-19, earning the 2019 UnitedHealthcare Revolution Academy Player of the Year Award. The North Attleborough, Mass. native spent the 2019-20 season playing professionally in Spain for A.D. Colmenar Viejo alongside his older brother and fellow Revolution Academy graduate, Justin Freitas.

Prior to his professional career, Freitas spent five years developing in the Revolution Academy, finishing his youth career with 109 games played, including 93 starts, with seven goals across all four age levels.
