This will be the 72nd regular-season meeting – and 83rd meeting in all competitions – between the New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls, whose rivalry dates all the way back to Major League Soccer’s inaugural season in 1996.
Home-field advantage has played a key role in recent years as the Revs have won four of the last five meetings in Foxborough – including a 2-1 triumph at Gillette Stadium less than two months ago – while the Red Bulls have been victorious in eight of the last nine matchups in New Jersey.
