This will be the first-ever match between the New England Revolution and Los Angeles FC, as 2018 is the inaugural season for the league’s most recent expansion side.

While this will be the initial meeting between the Revs and LAFC, there is recent history between these two teams. In May, they completed a trade that sent former Revolution midfielder Lee Nguyen to Los Angeles FC for up to $950,000 in allocation money and a potential first-round SuperDraft pick for 2019 or 2020.
