Lengthy break helps Revs get refreshed and “refocused” ahead of 2018’s second half

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – By the time the New England Revolution host fellow MLS original D.C. United on Saturday night at Gillette Stadium it will have been 17 days since the Revs’ last match.

That wait likely seemed interminable for the club’s supporters, but for the players – who played six games in 19 days between May 26 and June 13 – it was a necessary respite, an opportunity to disconnect and mentally recharge ahead of the second half of the 2018 campaign.

“It’s really important throughout a season to have breaks, to be able to kind of get refocused, get some time to yourself, away from the game for a little bit,” said Teal Bunbury, who registered nine goals in 13 games before the World Cup break.
