Knighton inducted into UNC-Wilmington Athletic Hall of Fame: “It’s very humbling”

BRADENTON, Fla. – Brad Knighton was with the New England Revolution as they traveled to Bradenton, Fla., on Friday morning, and he was on the field when the Revs kicked off their 13-day preseason trip with a training session at IMG Academy in the late afternoon.

But by late Friday evening, Knighton was headed back to the airport, bound for Wilmington, N.C.

The veteran goalkeeper is making a quick day-trip to his college town, where he’ll be one of four inductees into the UNC-Wilmington Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday. He’s joined in the Seahawks’ 12th Hall of Fame class by golfer Becky (Berzonski) Ogden, softball player Carley (Hughes) Milinichik, and swimmer Kate (Milling) Kling.
