FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Saturday night won’t be just another game for Kei Kamara.
For the first time since the trade that brought him to the New England Revolution back in mid-May, Kamara will face his former Columbus Crew SC teammates; the ones he helped guide to an MLS Cup appearance last year while scoring a league-leading 22 goals.
Facing a former club isn’t an entirely new concept to Kamara – he’s spent time with five different MLS teams in his career – but he admits that there’s always a bit of an extra buzz when it comes to squaring off against an old team, particularly with the trade so fresh in his memory.
