Brad Friedel confirmed that New England Revolution officials have recently met with Justin Rennicks but won’t say much else.
Rennicks, 19, has long been considered one of the most promising prospects to go through the Revolution Academy. Currently a Sophomore at Indiana University, the striker has earned regular call-ups to US youth international teams. Many fans have hoped that he will one day suit up for the Revs.
Things were derailed in 2017 when Rennicks trialed with Frankfurt of the Bundesliga, which was against the Revolution’s policies. The Massachusetts native was then suspended for his final season of academy eligibility before heading off to college.
