Two days after the New England Revolution recorded a 2-0 loss to expansion side FC Cincinnati, head coach Brad Friedel held a closed-door meeting to talk about the state of the club.
Friedel took over in 2018 and surprised opponents with his relentless press. This didn’t last, however, as opponents adjusted. Friedel ended his first season with a 10-13-11 record, which placed the Revs outside the playoffs for a third straight year.
There was some hope that the Revs would improve in Friedel’s second year, but the early results haven’t been positive. The Revs are 0-3-1, which includes two home losses.
