FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – For all intents and purposes, Saturday night’s 2-0 win over Orlando City SC kicked off the New England Revolution’s preparations for the 2019 season.
Officially eliminated from playoff contention before the match kicked off because of D.C. United’s victory over FC Dallas, Brad Friedel told his squad that the final three games of the current campaign will serve as an opportunity for players to earn their spots in next year’s preseason camp.
“We basically started our preseason tonight,” Friedel said. “That’s what I told the players. Everyone’s going to be playing for spots.
