On Friday, Jones used social media to voice his displeasure about the ongoing contract negotiations. According to the Designated Player, the Revs want to bring him back at a salary that's less than 20% of last year's number. The tweet, which hasn't been accompanied by any additional information, has became a talking point throughout the league.
Nicol, who now serves as an ESPN FC commentator, doesn't believe that Jones' online message will help negotiations.
