Former Revolution midfielder named as coach of NPSL side

Ryan Guy played almost every position while with the New England Revolution from 2011-2013. Now the jack-of-all-trades is trying his hand at a new role: head coach of NPSL side the NC Battalion.

On Thursday, Guy was named as the successor of former head coach Giovanni Vlahos, who resigned on Feb. 28, 2016. This won't be Guy's first foray into coaching as he previously led the San Diego Surf, a regional youth club. He helped the Surf BU11 Academy Select Team win the Cal South State Cup in February.

Guy's professional playing career began in 2007 when he signed with St Patrick's Athletic of Ireland.
