FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Through the first 10 games of the 2017 season, Diego Fagundez put in all of the work with little of the reward. He was consistently creating chances for teammates – racking up four assists and drawing a penalty – and he was finding himself in promising positions, but a goal of his own was always tantalizingly just out of reach.
Not anymore.
Fagundez, who broke through for his first goal of the campaign in last weekend’s 4-0 win over Real Salt Lake, was on the board twice more on Sunday afternoon, scoring both goals in the New England Revolution’s 2-1 win over Columbus Crew SC.
