Fagundez suspended, Revolution fire back with jab at Giovinco

Seven days after Toronto FC took down the Revolution, 2-0, the MLS Disciplinary Committee announced a one-game suspension for New England midfielder Diego Fagundez. In the 89th minute of the match, Fagundez stepped on Sebastian Giovinco’s leg. The Disciplinary Committee considered this “violent conduct.”

But the Revolution aren’t buying the suspension as a one-way ordeal. And the club made that clear on Twitter yesterday.

Earlier in the match, Giovinco executed a challenge through the wickets of Gershon Koffie. On the broadcast, Revolution color commentator Paul Mariner responded to the foul by saying, “I don’t think that’s allowed in professional soccer.
