It took longer than expected but Cristhian Machado is now a member of the New England Revolution, and he couldn’t be happier.
Rumors emerged in the winter that the Revs were interested in adding the defensive midfielder, who was then playing for Jorge Wilstermann of Bolivia. When The Bent Musket spoke to Machado via a translator, the player explained that the move never materialized because of financial complications between himself and Wilstermann.
Several months later, Machado was finally able to make the move to New England.
Machado believes that the deal puts him in a good position to further his career, stating that many Bolivians stay in their homeland for their entire lives.
