Carles Gil is hoping he’ll return from injury this year.
Gil last played for the New England Revolution on Jul. 17 when he went 62 minutes against D.C. United. The midfielder was seen sporting a boot soon after, which raised plenty of concerns. On Aug. 6, the club announced that Gil underwent successful surgery on his Achilles tendon.
The original prognosis predicted that Gil would miss three-to-five months, meaning it was unlikely he’d play again in 2020. Things have changed since then.
On Oct. 13, Gil returned to Gillette Stadium to participate in individual training.
