Bunbury, Kamara lead Revs into U.S. Open Cup quarterfinals with win over Cosmos

JAMAICA, N.Y. – For the second time in two weeks the New England Revolution used a late goal to advance in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night, and this time their dramatic win over the New York Cosmos booked them a spot in the competition’s quarterfinals.

Teal Bunbury scored a pair of goals – including the game winner in the 83rd minute – and Kei Kamara notched his first with New England as the Revs came from behind to claim a 3-2 victory over the Cosmos, setting up a quarterfinal meeting with the Philadelphia Union on July 20 at Harvard Stadium.
