Former New England Revolution defender A.J. Soares thinks highly of Chris Tierney. In fact, he thinks his former teammate should be wearing the captain’s armband.
After Saturday’s 1-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids, Soares sent a tweet in support of making Tierney the captain. Soares, who played for the Revs from 2011-2014, cited local ties and club longevity as reasons why he should take the armband from Lee Nguyen.
@ChrisTierney8 is a Boston local and has played about 4,000 games for the #nerevs - still not the actual captain?! Totally makes sense

Tierney has been with the Revolution since he signed his first professional contract in 2008.
