The Patriots continue to await more clarity on the injury to starting left tackle Will Campbell during Sunday’s win over the Bengals, but a report on Monday morning indicated that the rookie’s season may not be over.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Campbell is “believed to have suffered an MCL sprain and will an MRI on his knee.”
Rapoport added that Campbell could be headed for a stint on Injured Reserve (meaning he would miss at least four games), but that hope remains for a potential playoff return.
“He’s a candidate for Injured Reserve,” wrote Rapoport, “with the hope he returns when it counts the most.
