The former Patriots executive has said on a number of platforms in recent weeks that he wouldn't rule out Cam Newton signing with the Patriots.
But, the organization seems like it's planning on moving forward with second-year player Jarrett Stidham, so why does Lombardi keep pushing this story?

“I think the fact is nobody knows where Cam is medically," he said. "I think if there has been one player hurt by the coronavirus in terms of being able to get in front of people — to be able to take a comprehensive physical not only on his shoulder, but on his foot to really understand where he is medically — it’s been Cam Newton.
