North Carolina football coach Bill Belichick will have a very familiar face roaming the sidelines with him during the 2025 college football season.
Belichick's son, Steve Belichick, is the defensive coordinator for the Tar Heels. It will be the 15th year of coaching for Steve Belichick, and the second as a defensive coordinator. Bill Belichick hired Steve Belichick as his defensive coordinator soon after assuming the position of head coach.
While this season marks Bill Belichick's first as a college football coach, his son spent last season as the Washington Huskies defensive coordinator following a 2012-23 stint as a coach on Bill Belichick's New England Patriots' staff.
