A West Barnstable resident will announce the New England Patriots’ first draft pick tonight in Cleveland. The team has announced that Don Cox, president and CEO of the USA Veterans and Military Support Foundation, will be the Pats’ announcer for its 15th overall pick.
"I’m thrilled,” Cox said. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime deal.”
Why is Don Cox announcing the first pick?
Cox’s selection is part of the NFL “Draft-A-Thon" initiative, which aims to use the draft as a way to call attention to relief organizations that have been active during the COVID-19 pandemic.
