With the offices at Gillette Stadium closed in recognition of Juneteenth, the Patriots have released a video explaining the holiday’s origin to their fans.
“We’ve never posted about Juneteenth, but it is always the right time to do better than before,” they tweeted. “Today is a reflection of freedom, a day to celebrate and educate.”
The black-and-white video begins with one of Robert Kraft’s most famous quotes.
“We often say ‘we are all Patriots.' And with a team name like Patriots it’s important that we represent all Patriots. Black history is American history.
