After defeating the New York Jets on Sunday, Bill Belichick moved into second place on the all-time head coach wins list.
Belichick now has 325 career wins (regular season and postseason), which breaks a tie with Pro Football Hall of Famer and Chicago Bears legend George Halas. Don Shula holds the NFL record with 347 wins.
When asked about his career milestone, Belichick diverted attention away from himself, electing to credit his players.
“I’ll be able to talk about that when it’s over. We’ll add them up at the end,” Belichick said postgame. “I’m just happy for our team and appreciate all the great players we’ve had who’ve won those games.
