The All-Pro defensive back had one of the best highlights in the two mandatory minicamp practices. He snagged a one-handed interception on second-year quarterback Drake Maye when running down the sideline with rookie wide receiver Kyle Williams on Tuesday.
The ball sailed over Williams' head and fell into Gonzalez's outstretched hand for the takeaway. After Monday's practice, Maye said he told Gonzalez he would test throwing the ball in his direction. The cornerback must have taken it as a challenge when they got back onto the field.
Gonzalez has looked smooth throughout the offseason practices.
