The Patriots added more depth to a position that was already deep with quality players today.
Veteran slot receiver Andrew Hawkins via social media that he had signed with the Pats. The NFL Network reported that it was a one-year deal.
"The program is top-notch and you get the opportunity to play with the best quarterback and the best coach in NFL history," he said.
Hawkins, 31, is a six-year pro who played the last three years for the Cleveland Browns. He said that he spurned offers that were "probably double the compensation" to sign with the Pats.
