Training camp observations: Tom Brady goes deep, Stephon Gilmore returns, Derek Rivers injured

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. – The Patriots and Texans concluded their pair of joint practices today at the Greenbrier. This also marked the final practice of training camp that will be fully open to the media. Here are the Herald’s observations from the fully padded workout.

Attendance notes:
Derek Rivers departed midway through practice with a left leg injury. Rivers went down while covering a kickoff, and trainer Jim Whalen initially checked his knee and then the back of his leg, potentially the hamstring. Rivers remained on the ground in a good amount of pain for a couple minutes before slowly walking to the sideline and then about another 100 yards to the locker room.
