Tom Coughlin can't beat Bill Belichick this time around as Jaguars' impressive season comes to an end

FOXBORO – Tom Coughlin’s face was red all over again.

One day after the 10-year anniversary of the Giants’ incredible overtime victory over the Packers in minus-one degrees (minus-23 wind chill) in Green Bay in the NFC Championship Game, he was a lot warmer but a lot sadder Sunday as the Jaguars blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead to the Patriots in the AFC Championship Game and lost 24-20.

After beating Bill Belichick twice in the Super Bowl from the sidelines, Coughlin couldn’t do it from the press box. Their Cinderella story is over.

Coughlin did a great job in his first year back in Jacksonville, this time as the executive vice president of football operations after taking them to two AFC Championships as the coach in the first five years of the expansion franchise.
