It might not be the trophy that he wanted, but Tom Brady is happy that some hardware is coming to New England this winter.
After Stephon Gilmore became the first player in Patriots history to win the AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year on Saturday, Brady sent Gilmore a message of congratulations.
“Congrats @bumpnrungilmore on winning such a prestigious award!,” Brady wrote in an Instagram post. “There was no doubt to me and all our teammates how incredible you played week after week! But the work during practice is what we all admired and respected!
