Christian Barmore was a first-round talent entering the 2021 NFL Draft but slipped to the second round, where the New England Patriots traded up to No. 38 and selected the former Alabama star.
Barmore has made an impressive impact on the Patriots defense over the first seven games of his pro career. He particularly effective in the Patriots' blowout win over the rival New York Jets in Week 7, disrupting New York's offense with his range and athleticism.
"I think Christian has done a good job of developing all phases of his game," Patriots head coach Bill Belichick told reporters Monday.
