“She started petting me on my head like I was a farm animal,” Woody told NJ Advance Media.

The room froze. Everyone looked at the woman like she was insane.

“I’ve never seen a Black person before,” she said. “I’ve only seen Black people on TV.”

Woody, then a Boston College offensive lineman, remained calm.

“We’re not farm animals,” he told the woman, who was from Vermont.
