The Texans have requested permission to interview New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
The Texans pursued Caserio last year when they fired general manager Brian Gaine and briefly drew a tampering charge from the Patriots that was withdrawn when the AFC South franchise agreed to stop their pursuit of him.
Under his revised two-year contract, Caserio, 43, now has the freedom to interview for general manager jobs. The Carolina Panthers also have requested permission to interview Caserio.
