The New England Patriots got obliterated on the road in Thursday's preseason finale against the New York Giants. They got handed a 42-10 loss at MetLife Stadium in front of a Giants fan base so enthralled by the dominance that they were doing the crowd wave by the fourth quarter.
There weren't a lot of positives to take away from this game for the Patriots. Most of their starters sat out, and the backups didn't show much fire against a Giants team that looked like they were playing in a regular season game.
It's an ugly way to lose considering this might have been the last opportunity for some players to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.
