Some former Patriots tuned in to watch the team’s divisional-round game against the Chargers

Early in the first quarter of Sunday’s divisional-round matchup between the Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers, CBS color commentator Tony Romo offered his take on how quarterback Tom Brady should approach New England’s offensive attack.

“I think, in this game, Tom Brady needs to change up how they throw,” Romo said on the broadcast. “It’s a seven-step and then it’s hand-off and then it’s a screen and then it’s a slant and then it’s a three-step and then it’s a five-step. Never give them the same feeling of rhythm throughout the game.”

Retired nose tackle Vince Wilfork — who won two Super Bowls with Brady during his 11 years in New England — expressed amusement at Romo’s input.
