Roster Analysis: Patriots Sign DT Cory Durden to Active Roster, Elevate Two Players From the Practice Squad for Sunday's Opener vs. the Raiders

The Patriots made a series of roster moves ahead of Sunday's regular-season opener vs. the Raiders, including signing DT Cory Durden to the 53-man roster.

In a corresponding roster move, New England released DT Jeremiah Pharms, who had been with the team since the 2022 season, and elevated DB Corey Ballentine and LB Mark Robinson from the practice squad. The Patriots now have 55 players available for Sunday's game at Gillette Stadium, meaning they'll need to declare seven players as game-day inactives (CB Christian Gonzalez is ruled out with a hamstring injury).

The decision to swap Durden for Pharms on the 53-man roster is interesting for head coach Mike Vrabel.
