DENVER — For a good hour Sunday night, it seemed the Patriots had not only lost their first game of the 2015 season, but also their chances of winning a fifth Super Bowl.
Based on the way Rob Gronkowski reacted, it was fair to speculate that he had suffered a season-ending ligament tear. The replay, however, showed Denver safety Darian Stewart making contact with Gronkowski's right knee while his leg was in the air, not usually the way ligament tears occur, and reports soon leaked that Gronk's injury wasn't all that bad.
On Monday afternoon, ESPN reported that the star tight end has a bruised knee.
