Report: Patriots hire ex-Browns OC Alex Van Pelt as offensive coordinator

The Patriots have hired Alex Van Pelt to be their next offensive coordinator according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

Van Pelt, 53, was the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator for the past four seasons. He also has a year of experience as an offensive coordinator in the AFC East, having held the same position with the Buffalo Bills in 2009.

“Quick intel on Alex Van Pelt, who was just hired as the Patriots OC,” Jeff Howe of The Athletic wrote. “West coast system but has versatility due to his background, great person who can establish a positive offensive culture.
