New England Patriots cornerback Marcellas Dial Jr. was carted off the field during the team’s training camp session on Monday with what was reported as a “potentially significant” injury.
It turns out that Dial’s situation is a worst-case scenario.
“Filed to ESPN: Patriots CB Marcellas Dial Jr., who was carted off the field Monday, tore his ACL, per league sources,” ESPN’s Mike Reiss posted on Bluesky on Tuesday.
The Patriots selected the 24-year-old in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft and he appeared in all 17 games last season, making one start.
