The New England Patriots have reportedly agreed to a three-year, $60 million deal for veteran cornerback Carlton Davis, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
It's a strong signing by the Patriots with the obvious intent to improve on the defensive side of the ball. This move follows a slew of defensive deals ahead of free agency, including edge rusher Harold Landry III and linebacker Robert Spillane.
Davis, a former Super Bowl champion, playing opposite of All-Pro cornerback Christian Gonzalez will give the Patriots one of the league's best duos in the defensive backfield. He is coming off an impressive one-year stint with the Detroit Lions after racking up 56 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries and 11 pass deflections.
