Plays of ‘We Are the Champions’ spiked 1,347 percent in New England after the Patriots won the Super Bowl

As cheers rang out across New England following the Patriots’ win over the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII Sunday night, so too did British rock band Queen’s 1977 victory anthem.

Spotify confirmed to Boston.com that plays of “We Are the Champions” spiked 1,347 percent across New England’s six states — Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire Rhode Island, and Vermont — between 10 and 11 p.m. on Sunday night versus during the same hour the previous day. Of course, the Super Bowl ended just minutes after 10 p.m.

Boston Police officers couldn’t resist the tune either, posting the video below to their official Twitter account.
