The New England Patriots locked up core special teams member Justin Bethel on Friday, agreeing to a three-year $6 million contract according to ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss.

The 30-year old Bethel was scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency on March 17th, but elected to remain in New England following his initial signing with the team in October 2019 after his release from the Baltimore Ravens.

In 2020, Bethel lead the Patriots with 14 special teams tackles and played 84% of special teams snaps last season.

Over his nine-year NFL career, Bethel has earned three Pro-Bowl invites and two first team All-Pro honors.
