NORTH SCITUATE, Rhode Island – Two Seacoast runners placed in the top 10 at Saturday’s New England Cross Country championship race at Ponaganset High School.
Portsmouth Christian Academy senior Brianna Malone, who won last Saturday’s New Hampshire Meet of Champions, covered the 3.1-mile course in 18 minutes, 33.6 seconds and placed second. Junior Ruth White of Orono (Maine) High School beat the 245-runner field in a time of 17:51.3.
Oyster River sophomore Haley Kavanagh was eighth overall in a time of 18:58.9, while classmate Mackenzie Cook placed 16th in 19:10.
